Questo è il mio ultimo album in italiano is Pivio’s new solo album, following the conclusion of the so-called “trilogy of social pathologies”, which began with Cryptomnesia (2020) — an album released during the pandemic — and continued with Pycnoleptic (2023), an album that allowed him to experiment with new audio technologies (particularly through native mixing with the Atmos system), and concluded with Misophonia (2024), an album officially presented during Milan Music Week 2024. The focus of Questo è il mio ultimo album in italiano is a sort of investigation into war, the actions that characterize it, and its devastating effects, especially when taken to their extremes. The physical version of the album also includes a volume with nine original “dystopian” stories, written by Pivio himself, inspired by the album’s nine songs. These include a cover of Franco Battiato’s “Shock in my town” and a live version of “Poesia Iran 2022,” originally included in the collection Parole liberate.
